Payment Apps and Cards for Kids in Israel: Parents' Guide Summer 2026

# Payment Apps and Cards for Kids in Israel: The Summer 2026 Parents' Guide

Kids' allowances no longer have to change hands in cash. In recent years, the Israeli market has seen a wave of apps, digital wallets, and prepaid cards that let parents send money remotely, track purchases, set limits, and help children get hands-on experience with budgeting.

The range of options keeps growing. Alongside PayBox Young and KashCash, credit card companies now offer MyMAX, My Cal, and Nitanchick, Discount Bank offers Mafteach 2GO, and Bank Hapoalim has launched Poalim Junior.

The differences between these solutions go beyond price alone. It's worth checking your child's age, phone type, mobile payment support, cash withdrawal options, usability abroad, loading limits, and the level of control parents get.

We're glad to share a short article that explains how kids' wallets work in 2026.

Poalim Junior

Poalim Junior is a new service from Bank Hapoalim designed for children aged 8 and up. It combines a prepaid card, a kid-friendly app, allowance transfers, expense tracking, transaction alerts, and the ability to manage savings. Parents open and manage the service from within their own Bank Hapoalim account.

Card loading is fee-free. Up to NIS 2,500 can be loaded per transaction, and the maximum card balance is NIS 2,500. The cumulative loading cap is NIS 10,000 per month, and the daily usage cap is NIS 4,000.

The card can be added to a digital wallet, subject to age restrictions and the terms of Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Who is it for? Mainly for families who bank with Hapoalim and want to consolidate the card, allowance, savings, and tracking within the banking system.

PayBox Young

PayBox Young is a digital wallet for children and teens aged 8 to 18. Kids can pay in stores and online, view their balance and spending, receive money from others, transfer money to friends, and open savings pots.

Parents can set a monthly limit, a maximum purchase amount, and maximum amounts for transfers and incoming money.

The digital card costs NIS 4.90 per month, and the physical card costs NIS 7.90 per month. New members get 30 days free, there's no loading fee, and a third and fourth child may be exempt from the monthly card fee, subject to terms. Parents are required to hold a PayBox credit card.

Each child's account can hold up to NIS 5,000. A single payment, transfer, or incoming payment is capped at NIS 400. All payments, transfers, and cash withdrawals combined are capped at NIS 5,000 per month.

Using the physical card, up to NIS 400 can be withdrawn per withdrawal.

Regarding phones: a child with an iPhone who doesn't meet Apple Pay's age requirement won't be able to use the digital card through the wallet. In that case, a physical card may be the better solution.

Who is it for? More independent kids who want to pay, receive money, and transfer money to friends.

KashCash

KashCash is a digital money app based on loading a digital wallet directly from the parent's bank account (via payment initiation / open banking), rather than through a standard credit card. Children under 16 can join as part of a family group with parental approval. Each child needs their own smartphone and Israeli phone number.

Parents can transfer money, set a fixed allowance, approve or decline money requests, track activity, and set daily, weekly, monthly, or per-transaction limits.

A single transaction by a child is capped at NIS 500. Total incoming money is capped at NIS 1,000 per day and NIS 5,000 per month. Purchases and transfers combined are also capped at NIS 1,000 per day and NIS 5,000 per month. Parents can set lower limits if they choose.

Payment is made via QR code scanning, a payment code, or contactless payment, and only at merchants that support KashCash. The app requires camera access for QR scanning and a device with a lock screen.

Who is it for? Families who prefer a solution based entirely on the phone, with no physical card, where the child mainly shops at merchants that support KashCash.

MyMAX

MyMAX is a physical and digital prepaid card from MAX. Parents must hold a non-bank MAX credit card and can order up to five prepaid cards.

MyMAX has no card fee.

New cardholders get a loading fee exemption for three months. After that, a loading fee of NIS 1 applies per one-time load or standing order load.

Up to NIS 1,000 can be loaded per day, transactions are capped at NIS 1,000 per day, up to NIS 3,000 can be loaded per month, and the balance can reach up to NIS 10,000.

Cash withdrawals are possible with the physical card only, up to NIS 400 per day, with a fee of 1% of the withdrawal amount.

MyMAX supports Apple Pay and Google Pay on compatible devices, subject to the digital wallets' terms.

Who is it for? Those looking for a simple prepaid card, with no card fee, a relatively low loading fee, cash withdrawal, and usability both in Israel and abroad.

My Cal

My Cal is a prepaid card from Cal, suitable for children of various ages. Parents must hold a non-bank Cal credit card.

There's no card fee, and there's no loading fee for the first two months. After that, a fee of NIS 2.90 applies per load.

Up to NIS 1,500 can be loaded at a time, up to NIS 5,000 per month, with a balance of up to NIS 10,000.

Parents can set up weekly or monthly loading, receive alerts, track activity, and lock or unlock the card via the app.

Up to NIS 500 can be withdrawn per day, and the card can be used abroad and on international websites. The foreign currency transaction fee is 3%.

The card can be added to Google Pay from age 13 and to Apple Pay from age 14, subject to the companies' terms.

At the time of review, a 10% cashback offer was also available at participating chains, on cumulative purchases of up to NIS 3,000 and capped at NIS 300, subject to the promotion's terms.

Who is it for? Parents who want broad control, automatic loading, cash withdrawal, and mobile payment.

Nitanchick by Isracard

Nitanchick is a prepaid card from Isracard, which can be ordered using a non-bank Isracard credit card.

Ordering is free and there's no monthly usage fee. There's no loading fee for the first three months, after which a fee of NIS 3.50 applies per load.

Up to NIS 1,000 can be loaded at a time, and the maximum balance is also NIS 1,000. The loading limit is NIS 4,000 per month and NIS 10,000 per year, and up to three cards can be ordered.

The card allows payments in Israel, abroad, online, and via digital wallet, as well as cash withdrawals up to the available balance.

The card cannot be used in certain sectors, including fuel, hotels, car rentals, gambling, money transfers, and crypto.

Who is it for? Isracard customers looking for a card with a limited balance, simple tracking, and cash withdrawal.

Mafteach 2GO by Discount Bank

Mafteach 2GO is a prepaid card from Discount Bank that can be ordered for a child aged 12 and up from the parent's account. There's no issuance fee, and the card can be used for purchases, online shopping, and cash withdrawals.

For a card ordered from the parent's account, the loading amount and maximum balance are NIS 1,000, and up to NIS 400 can be withdrawn per day.

The loading fee is NIS 2.70 via the app or NIS 3 at a branch.

For a Young Account, ages 14 to 16, the balance and total purchases and cash withdrawals combined are capped at NIS 400 per day, and the card is limited to domestic use. For ages 16 to 18, the maximum balance is NIS 1,000 and cash withdrawal is capped at NIS 400 per day.

Young people aged 14 to 25 may be exempt from loading fees on a 2GO card issued to their own account, depending on the account terms.

The card does not support payments, standing orders, or direct debit authorizations. There are also blocked categories, including fuel, hotels, airlines, car rentals, and gambling.

Who is it for? Families banking with Discount who want a prepaid card that can be loaded remotely, with spending control.

So, What Should You Choose?

There's no single solution that fits every family.

For Bank Hapoalim customers with young children, Poalim Junior offers a convenient combination of card, savings, and tracking.

For a child who wants to both receive and transfer money, PayBox Young is one of the most comprehensive solutions, though it comes with a monthly usage fee.

KashCash is better suited to children who have a smartphone and mainly shop at merchants that support the app.

MyMAX, My Cal, and Nitanchick suit parents who prefer a standard prepaid card with broad usability and cash withdrawal. MyMAX's main advantage is the exemption from card fees, alongside a loading fee of just NIS 1 after the three-month promotional period.

For Discount Bank customers, Mafteach 2GO may be a natural fit, especially when the card is ordered from the parent's account or from a Young Account.

Beyond fees, it's also important to check phone compatibility. A child with an iPhone who doesn't meet Apple Pay's age requirement may need a physical card, and on Android devices, contactless payment support is required.

It's recommended to start with a small amount, agree on usage rules with your child, and regularly review the spending breakdown together. The goal isn't just to replace cash, but to help your child learn responsibility, saving, and budget management.
